Notalia Privacy Policy Política de Privacidad de Notalia

Last updated: October 5, 2026 Última actualización: 5 de octubre de 2026

The short version

Your notes, tasks and notebooks never reach us. They are stored on your device and, if you are signed in to iCloud, in your own iCloud account. Neo21 Studios operates no server for Notalia and has no way to read your content.

The one exception is advertising. The free version of Notalia shows ads through Google AdMob, and that SDK collects data about your device. Details below.

Who we are

Notalia is made by Neo21 Studios LLC, an Arizona limited liability company. This policy covers the Notalia apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac. The policy for the neo21studios.com website is here.

What Notalia stores, and where

Everything you create in Notalia — tasks, projects, notes, folders, notebooks, drawings, reading lists, attachments, tags and settings — is stored in a database on your device.

If you are signed in to iCloud and have iCloud Drive enabled, that database is also mirrored to the private database of your own iCloud account, using Apple's CloudKit. That is how the same content appears on your iPhone, iPad and Mac. This data belongs to your Apple Account, is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, and is not accessible to us.

Attachments up to 10 MB are included in that sync. Larger files are kept only on the device that received them and are not uploaded anywhere.

If you are not signed in to iCloud, Notalia works entirely offline and nothing leaves your device.

When you share something

If you use Notalia's sharing features to collaborate on a project or notebook, the invitation and the shared content travel through Apple's iCloud Sharing to the people you choose. We are not a party to that exchange and cannot see the content. If instead you export a PDF or text and send it through another app, what happens next is governed by that app.

Device permissions

Notalia asks for a permission only when you use the feature that needs it, and the data stays on your device.

PermissionWhat it is for
CameraTaking a photo or scanning a document to attach to a task or note.
Photo LibraryAttaching images you choose. Notalia reads only what you pick.
MicrophoneRecording voice notes, which are stored as attachments like any other file.
CalendarShowing your events inside a notebook page, and creating an event when you ask for one. Events are read on the device.
Face ID / Touch IDUnlocking notes and folders you have locked. Apple's system performs the check; Notalia only receives a yes or no, and never has access to your biometric data.

Text recognition and reading aloud

Recognising the text in an image, and reading a note aloud, both run on your device, using the frameworks built into iOS and macOS. Images are not uploaded for processing and no text is sent to any transcription or speech service.

Advertising

The free version of Notalia displays banner advertising through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google's SDK collects information about your device — which may include device identifiers, approximate location derived from IP address, device and operating system characteristics, and your interactions with the ads. This is collected and used by Google, not by us, and is governed by Google's privacy policy for partner sites.

On Apple platforms, apps must ask before tracking you across other companies' apps and websites. If Notalia ever asks, declining it is respected and the app continues to work; you can also turn off Allow Apps to Request to Track in iOS Settings at any time. Buying the paid version removes the ads and the SDK that comes with them.

Purchases

Purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Notalia only receives from Apple a confirmation of what you own, which it stores on your device.

What we do not do

Notalia contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no behavioural tracking and no advertising profile built by us. Apart from Apple's iCloud sync and the advertising described above, the app makes no network requests of its own. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not have accounts, logins or mailing lists.

Children

Notalia is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the free version shows advertising, we recommend the paid version for use by minors.

Your rights and your data

Because your content never reaches us, there is nothing for us to export or delete on your behalf. Deleting the app removes the local copy; deleting the data from your iCloud account is done through your Apple Account settings. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, ask and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here.

La versión corta

Tus notas, tareas y cuadernos nunca llegan a nosotros.

Tus derechos y tus datos
